核磁共振成像MRI造影劑可以分為縱向弛豫造影劑 (T1制劑)和橫向弛豫造影劑（T2制劑）。T1制劑是通過水分子中的氫核和順磁性金屬離子直接作用來縮短T1，從而增信號，圖像較亮；T2制劑是通過對外部局部磁性的不均勻性進行干擾，使鄰近氫質(zhì)子在弛豫中很快產(chǎn)生相(diphase)來縮短T2，從而減弱信號，圖像較暗。

Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is an imaging technique usedprimarily in medical research to produce high quality images of in vivosystems. To track materials within in vivo systems, compounds-of-interest aretagged with materials that possess magnetic properties.
